Shabby Chic

Recently I have had the opportunity to assist my mother in coordinating weddings for The Orchard event center in Azle, TX. So now I will be blogging about the many different weddings we attend...
Stay tuned and take notes! There will be many great ideas that you will want to incorporate in your wedding!

The Shabby Chic Bride

Colors: eggplant, burnt orange, white
Event Designer: Brides step-mother

Fun Fact: The brides step-mother literally made all of the decor.. Even the napkins, overlays and table linen on cake tables and sweetheart table! She is sooo talented and doesn't even do this for a living!!

Here is the before picture of the reception space....

Annnnd After.....

The step-mother made the purple overlays, ivory napkins, orange napkins, and small pillows for the wedding favors. As well as the centerpieces. The branches were literally found outside and spray painted.

The lace on this sweetheart table was taken from an $8 dress!

Even though it was 50 degrees this weekend, the ceremony and cocktail hour was held outside... Of course we tried to make it as comfortable as possible with the fireplace on and heaters.

I even got a moment to showcase my skills when I witnessed the brides mother struggling to create the candy buffet... So of course I went over and offered my assistance, took over and did my thing!

Mind you, I use premium linen when I decorate candy buffets, and the letters will be designed to match the decor also. www.loveyoureverything.com =)

So shabby chic brides there you have it! This wedding was country elegance at its finest!!! Any questions feel free to contact me! New blog will be up next week and the last weekend of this month! 3 blogs in 1 month??? Get ready for a wedding overload! Until next time....

Destination Weddings

HELLO LADIES! Its been awhile! I had a bit of a writers block but a friend of mine recently called me asking for information about destination weddings and I figure there were plenty of women wanting info about them sooo here we go!!! I chose Hawaii, Jamaica, Bahamas, and Mexico to research and found plenty of information via www.theknot.com I have compromised my top 15 in a list for you below! Ranging from different prices and amenities you are sure to find your DREAM DESTINATION WEDDING DESTINATION HERE!

We'll start with Cancun, Mexico.. Closest to us Texans!

This resort turned out to be my favorite... The Palace Resort in Cancun. http://www.palaceresorts.com/weddings/weddingcollection/default-en.html
They offer wedding packages ranging from $1500-$4500 Also they offer a complimentary package if you are a guest of the hotel.

Lavender Luxe $3900

Nautical $1500

Sultry Sunset $4200

Next We'll visit Hawaii! Probably the most popular destination for destination weddings!

The Prince Resorts in Hawaii have 3 different locations for you to choose from.. The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, The Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, and Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki. Each location offer mostly the same wedding packages at different prices probably because of the different parts of Hawaii they are located in and certain amenities may be offered at one and not the other.

Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki wedding packages range from $650-$2500 you can then add receptions for $7000, $12,000, and $17,000

The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel wedding packages range from $4000-$8000

The Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel wedding packages range from $1500-$7500

Makena Beach and Golf Resort

Next we'll head to the Caribbeans! specifically Bahamas and Jamaica, the most traveled 2 places in the caribbean.

Travel to The Atlantis in Bahamas offer wedding packages ranging from $1950-$12,750

Bejeweled at The Jewel Dunn's River Beach Resort in Jamaica offer wedding packages ranging from complimentary to $2500.

Get Ritzy at The Ritz Carlton in Jamaica also offer wedding packages ranging from complimentary to $7500.

It's couple night at The Couples Resort in Jamaica offer wedding packages ranging from complimentary to $4,750

The Secrets Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica offers wedding packages ranging from $949-$2,999

Also if your going to the Bahamas check out the One and Only Ocean Club

Ladies get started early if you want a destination wedding! One year may or may not be enough to really get your planning for this finished so use your time wisely. The FIRST thing you should do is get your guest list finalized! Personally I'd take some type of deposit from each guest that said he or she would go before booking your wedding. Also, going through a travel agent is the best way to get group travel rates! Happy Destination Wedding Planning! BTW i have all this information printed out in detail if you want to call me for details!!!

Until next time sweethearts!

What about the GROOM?

I interviewed about 15 men (married and single) what vest/tie colors would/wouldn't wear in their own personal wedding. Often women go off the deep end picking their favorite girly colors for their wedding not thinking about the groom. Well brides, you still don't HAVE to think about him but if you have one that wants to be included in the details here are some stats on the colors men prefer to wear!

TRADITIONAL

Most men like to stick with the traditional colors black and white, black and ivory, or black on black.

Some of them even commented on how they like to see their bride in a WHITE dress! Lol I assured them that sort of thing doesn't happen often!

BRIGHT COLORS

Obviously most men do not like bright colors but Purples, Blues, Pinks, and Reds won for Grooms Most "do-able" colors.

1st place- Purple: Most men like royal purple because
of the feeling of Royalty it gives them
(my personal fav also for the same reason lol)
Surprisingly a 3/15 of the men mentioned
lavender as a color they WOULD do..
Only 5 men said NO to purple

2nd place- Blue or Red These are obvious
colors because these are the "manliest"
of the bright colors!
7/15 for red 8/15 for blue
3rd place: Most brides choose a variation of pinks for their wedding AND since pink is
one of the most hated colors by men
I was not surprised by the love/hate
relationship all men have with it.
8 men said NO and 7 said YES
Most did specify that the pink they would
wear is the light pink rather than hot pink..
Baffles me lol

YELLOW received the most NO's 10/15
Yellow is just toooo girly for men!

Most Men were indifferent towards wearing peach.
They like it b/c it isn't to FLASHY! Actually
men would rather wear peach than orange or pink!

OTHER COLORS

Unexpectedly, chocolate brown had more dislikes
than likes.. They actually preferred light brown colors
to chocolate.
Silver can go either way for men.. The main reason
they do not want to wear silver is b/c it is so plain.. Told
them we weren't talking fashion lol!
Men like Gold because it reminds them of royalty
they chose this color to go with the royal purple often.
Not to much surprise here but 10/15 said they liked gold

Last and definitely the LEAST liked is
any color green vest.. lol idk i thought guys liked
green!?

Brides you still don't HAVE to include your future hubby in the wedding plans if you don't want too but take into account what they might like and see if you can incorporate any of that color for him!!

Happy Planning!
